Personality wise, Hollow Ichigo is a sadistic and brutal character always ready for battle and often laughing maniacally. He’s arrogant, sarcastic, and has little respect for others. His battle strategy isn’t one of caution or tactic, but rather brute force; he’ll ignore pain and injury in order to attack and overwhelm enemies by going all out in battle. This is in contrast to how normal Ichigo acts, which is more tactful, reasonable, and cautious in battles, which Zangetsu believes to be a weakness that will get them both killed.

Since Hollow Ichigo exists inside Ichigo, he values Ichigo’s life insofar as it keeps him alive, because if Ichigo dies, so does he. However, that hasn’t stopped Zangetsu from making it his goal to devour Ichigo in order to become the dominant personality and take control of his body.
